PHP Programmer Position - Los Angeles and Calgary

Our revenue is generated from a unique and in-depth formula for obtaining top-ranking websites with our website builder software. We build custom website applications into our website content management system for companies of all sizes worldwide. We have developed Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques that rank our clients in the top percentile of major search engines such as MSN, Google, AOL and Yahoo while giving them full control over content changes.  We need to maintain and upgrade our web builder software application (PHP driven) for information-based websites and corporate website applications.  Our software has the following capabilities:

• SEO-centric web page building
• RSS Feeds
• XML Data Generation
• Ecommerce & Email Marketing
• WYSWIG content editing
• File management for photos, multimedia and pdf files

• MUST have previous experience in building CMS (content management systems) 
• MUST have experience in E Commerce and merchant accounts
• Fluent in Javascript, MySQL, PHP, HTML, AJAX, and object oriented design tools a MUST have
• Strong understanding of Linux, Apache Servers
• Ability to troubleshoot quickly and have a very productive work ethic
• Knowledge of database management, web builder software
• **Access to own computer for virtual work
  

Main qualifications for this project:

As a PHP Programmer you will posess the following skills:

• Knowledgable with OOP skills to assist in the development of a website builder/online community system with blog like features and an image gallery system.
• Skills required are a good understanding of XHTML/CSS for modifying templates to be used.
• Javascript and AJAX programming skills would be beneficial for creating some parts of the user interface system.
• Experience with MySQL 5 using InnoDB tables for true relational integrity
• Experience with MVC (Model View Controller) OOP programming.
• Knowledge of using phpDocumentor style code comments an asset.
• Experience with PEAR libraries, including DB DataObjects, HTML QuickForm, and HTML Sigma Templates.
  Experience with SVN

You will be working with our Cheif software engineer in the creation of this system and will be assisting in creating modules, templates and user interface design.

This project has been budgeted as a contract position for a 6 month duration on a full time basis. Team programming.  A strong understanding of system-level security and good programming architecture principles and 'clean' coding are essential.

If you prove to be a great fit this can turn into a full-time position with profit sharing options.
